REAL HOSPITALITY PROJECT

More Than A Safari Lodge

Taasa Lodge sits in one of the most remote corners of the northern Serengeti, and this assignment was about far more than photographing a beautiful property. Over several days in the bush, I documented the full experience of being there: the landscape, wildlife, game drives, Maasai communities, conservation efforts and the connection between the lodge and its environment. Some mornings started before sunrise tracking wildlife across the plains. Others were spent with local Maasai communities or photographing guests experiencing the Serengeti for the first time. Along the way I found myself close to lions on a hunt, learning how to read the bush with experienced guides, and even being charged by a protective elephant mother. For me, hospitality photography is not only about rooms, food and architecture. It is about telling the complete story of a place and helping future guests understand what it truly feels like to be there.

The Kind Of Assignment I Was Born To Do

There is something special about waking up in the Serengeti before sunrise, drinking coffee as the bush comes alive and spending the day exploring one of the most extraordinary ecosystems on earth. Days were filled with tracking wildlife, listening to the stories and knowledge of local guides and game scouts, and learning to see the landscape through the eyes of people who have spent their lives there. Projects like this combine everything I love most: photography, storytelling, wildlife, travel and genuine human connection. They never feel like work. They feel like exactly where I am supposed to be.
